Ancestor Salvage Genealogy serves folks who want to connect on an emotional level with their ancestors
By sharing and discussing an anthropological approach to genealogy, Ancestor Salvage helps you view your ancestors within the context of their lives, not yours
We KNOW our female ancestors often had literally no way out of their circumstances. We KNOW our enslaved ancestors suffered greatly. We KNOW that our ancestor’s identities affected their lives, in ways that even they might have been blinded to at the time. We carry their pain within us. That pain is their legacy.
We KNOW this one life we are living is precious and we work to harness the inner strengths our ancestors struggled so hard for. That strength is their legacy. We have a privilege they did not have; perspective, which detaches us from the physical pain of their situation, while parts of our DNA remain tethered firmly in our genetic memory.
Healing occurs in safety. If you have the privilege of living in safety today, ancestral healing is a route to wholeness, meaning, and an important step toward creating your own legacy.
